Appeal letter: what to include
- 1The decision identified exactly: number, date, who issued it.
- 2Your grounds, strongest first — only your facts.
- 3A request for the evidence behind the decision.
- 4What you ask for: cancel, or reduce.
- 5The appeal deadline, in the notes.
Questions
- Is there a deadline?
- Almost always, and it is usually short — often counted from the day you were notified. Check it first; a late appeal is usually rejected without being read.
- Have the fine itself?
- Upload it instead: we'll read the notice and build the appeal from its own numbers and weak points.
- Does appealing mean I don't have to pay?
- Not always. In some places you must pay first or lose a discount. The notes under your letter say what applies where we could verify it.
